On August 2 2009 Bogota International Half Marathon.

At 2600 meters above sea level, running the 21km of Bogotá’s half marathon is not a feat for those of faint heart or sea level lungs. An endeavour of this magnitude takes time, dedication and above all, acclimatisation. 

Citation for warming up: 8 a.m.
Time of Start: 10 a.m.

Recreative Race 10 km

For those not up to competing in the 21km event there is also an alternative Bogota 10km on the same day that takes in a different route bus ends in the same place.

Measuring System

The tenth version of Bogotá's Half Marathon will use once again the technology chip to measure the time of the athletes that are going to participate in the 21 KM. This system is the most advanced that is available in the market worldwide that offers ChampionChip.

This technology was used for the first time in September 1994 during Berlin's Marathon. Nowadays the technology that is used in Bogotá's Half Marathon is also used in the following marathon's:  New York, London, Tokyo, Boston, Costa Dorada, Chicago, Paris, Durban, Los Angeles, Rotterdam, Ciudad Cabo, Honolulu, Moscow and Buenos Aires.
